Timeout at the
Maisäß hut

Less is more

Why relaxation comes so easy in our Miaisäß hut? Because sometimes, less is more. And today, tranquillity is the true luxury.

Time seems to stand still. The Maisäß hut is a place in an ideal world. It tells the story of the Montafon mountain farmers’ and their traditions. Of the frugal life of past days. Around the turn of the century, the houses in Gargellen served as Maisäß huts. Farmers from Montafon used the small huts during snow-free times between May and November. The families and their livestock moved from the valley to higher altitude. The farmers’ lives were marked by hard work. There was barely any comfort between milking, cleaning the stables and mowing.

Today, our Maisäß is a place far off the hustle of the everyday life. Bertram Rhomberg carefully renovated the building listed under preservation order. Including a guest toilet, spacious bathroom, cosy bedrooms and a modern equipped kitchen – this special timeout at the Maisäß hut leaves no desire unanswered.
